This is the best chess set one can find at such a low price. The mat texture is smooth. Its is durable and quite hard. The mat and the pieces are heavy so it can be used to play in parks too without any worries of wind. Pieces are quite large and provide an excellent feel when one holds them.

I ordered one 17 inch and one 20 inch set. Completely satisfied with the quality of pieces and chess board but there is one minor issue. The 17 inch mat is actually slightly bigger than 18 inches and the 20 inch mat is actually around 19 inches. So there is this minor issue regarding size. Please take care of it in the future. But overall, a great chess set to play on.
